Give me a reason to give you a , or :pals:, or :toast:.

I'd really love to hear about the good stuff that's going on.

If you're catching the brief cool period in the morning then that's even better. People with the discipline to excercise in the morning are inspiring.

(never mind that morning people are inherently evil.) :P

7. My house smells like ripe plums.
Later I'll spend an hour sorting and processing them. I can't make a good jam because they're juicy table plums, but plum sauces and marinades are a different story.
My plum tree is at the height of ripeness right now -- 100 plums picked yesterday and another 50 fed to the compost bin thanks to the effects of a breezy day.

one that I use broke, and they couldn't get in that building to take it to get it fixed, so they just bought a new one. I took the old one to save it from being thrown in the dumpster, the part that is broken I am pretty sure I can fix (its some wheels on the bottom, it runs just fine). :woohoo:

My kids are in activities today, so I took the opportunity to combine running errands with exercise.

It felt good.

For supper, I am making good old fashioned Southern fried chicken (so we can have cold leftovers on a picnic tomorrow), mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, deviled eggs, cucumber & onion salad, and blueberry crumble. All from scratch.

Tomorrow: mow front and back yard, go to the store. Wed: take hubby to airport (he has an appt at the Albuquerque VA), clean the dining room where all the books are, pack up some to donate to library, rearrange the rest. :hi:

73. I hope you have some vacation during your vacation.
:P

I'm doing the same sort of things with the help of a wonderful DUer. InfoManiac is an awesome friend who is helping me sort and get rid of 12 years of accumulated stuff. It's a much needed spring cleaning. It's wonderful when you can finally get to the stuff you've had to put off.

But you should still find some time to enjoy your vacation too.

72. Ignoring all else that has happened, I helped a very needy student earlier.
And she was very grateful. :) She gave me a hug before she left. That's what makes all of the other stuff worthwhile.

And  :pals: to you too, ThomCat. Hope you're feeling better!

76. That is awesome!
I'd love to have a job where I could actually help people. I used to have all of my volunteer work for that, but that was a while ago.

You're a good person. I'm glad you like being able to help people. So many people don't.

(and my kitty Tonka's love :loveya: )

I've been sad today looking at anti-environmentalists arguing on the internet so seeing people list some good stuff is making me feel better, I'm gonna have to look thru these responses!

:hi:

I can't take credit for this thread. I saw someone else do a thread like this a while back and thought it was a wonderful idea. So I stole it. :P

:)

I hope you got to spend some time with your daughter without all your coworkers crowding around oohing and ahhing. :P

82. yes we did
get to spend a little time together without the rest of the crew bugging us. I'm the boss so I just told them to get back to work!!

seriously, though, she's been in a few times, so by now everyone says hi to her, but they don't crowd around like they used to :)
