YUCK! "Bag Balm" smells worse than Charlie Sheen's's dirty taint!
My feet are dry and cracking, and someone suggested to me to slather them with Bag Balm before I go to bed, but that stuff smells like a ten dollar flop-house elevator that Courtney Love took a hangover crap in.

Is there some different kind of product that will help to heal my feet that doesn't smell like Fozzy Bear's ass?

1. believe it or not, Vicks Vap-O-Rub
Which has a smelliness issue all its own, but the botanicals in it help heal the skin.

It's getting to the point that my feet are starting to look like a sleestack's nutsack.

3. Are we talking calluses cracking here, or actual live skin drying and cracking?
'Cause I can give advice on calluses, but not on live skin.

4. Not calluses. Just dry, cracking skin.
I don't think I need to sand my feet.

5. Hmm...vaseline, maybe?
Calluses are easy to fix, for future reference. Some work with an exacto knife and you're done.

15. No, really...vaseline.
Slather it on your feet before bed and put socks on so it doesn't gunk up the sheets. It really does work and doesn't have a frightfully strong smell to it.

17. do you have raynaud's syndrome?
Edited on Wed Jul-18-07 06:28 AM by QuestionAll
do your fingers get cracks too- especially in winter?
do your hands and feet get cold easily?

btw- yes, you can 'sand' your feet- with one of these, or something like it:

my bedtime routine is to use the foot scraper/sander on the bad areas- heels, balls(of the feet), and toes- then slather on the bag balm, then put on some clean white socks.

9. And you're thinking about how my moustache smells at 5 AM, exactly why? Seems kind of an odd
thing for anyone other than Mrs R to consider, after all.

Is this a subject that you ponder frequently?

11. Yes.
I frequently stay up all night wondering about that exact question. You should feel honored.

(Hey, you invited snark, and I didn't want to let you down.... Do you have an easy remedy for dry feet that does not involve Bag Balm? That shit smells funky.)

25. Christ, I don't know from dry feet. But seriously, look up the Vermont Country Store site.
They have all manner of stuff for dry skin, though if you know about Bag Balm it's lkely that you already know about them.

12. Try Steve Martin's Penis Beauty Cream, I hear it works for feet

Actually, I rather like that Gold Bond foot cream. Stupid diabetic feet are always a real mess, but that stuff really helps.

23. I have the same problem -- And solved it!

with extra dry feet. Regular lotions just didn't do it. I'd put it on at night any by morning, my feet looked dry and cracking again.

I finally got them under control by:

1) Using a good exfoliator in the shower. I like this one:

2) Follow the directions and scrub it off with a steel scrubber. Not sandpaper, not a loofah. Those aren't strong enough .

Pat your feet dry and use an emollient and enzyme rich lotion (I use Amylactin) ....or vaseline. Either works. Vasoline and similar works best if you've missed a few treaments and need to jump start the process again. I wouldn't use Vicks because the smell, while not unpleasant, really irritates my nose.

3. Don't go barefoot. I used to always go barefoot, putting on shoes only when I really had to. Wear some kind of protective sole on your feet. I wear rubber sandals even in the house. I still feel barefoot, and it protects and keeps my feet supple.

IOW, you need a dermabrasion for your feet. That's the only way my feet feel normal and healthy. And my tooties look good naked too. :-)
