GD Will NOT Be Pretty Later Today
I do believe there will be a Senate vote today after their "all nighter". They won't get 60 votes to bring the troops home.

Pay no attention to the booming sound you hear. It isn't an earthquake, or a nuke. Al Qaeda isn't striking your local Olive Garden and your Cracker Barrel is stll intact. It's just GD exploding into a firey ball of gas after the repukes don't put their money where there mouths are.

GD will be fine, it will rebuild itself as always. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

3. It's not like they can hold a gun to the Repubs and force them to vote with them
At least they are doing something. At least they are trying. There are rules of the Senate that must be followed so that one party does not hold absolute power. I know alot of folks won't understand that an will revel in the chance to spend the rest of the week screaming about how weak and spineless the Democrats are.

20. Really,
this is really all I ask. I understand Reid can only do so much in the Senate. It's the House's level of fear of Bush that makes me depressed.

6. But the important thing is
that the Repubs will be forced to have their votes recorded, that they did not support the troops or want them to have a decent amount of recovery time from deployments.

7. Someone please remind the repubs that Libby's sentence was "too much", but the troops
are forced into endless re-ups.

Is there an emoticon for "fucking cronyist oil-hungry hypocrites"?

9. Why? Because a failed vote will prove the point of Senate Dems all along?
That we don't have the votes to get out of Iraq? That there's really not much they can do?

If anything, GD should be one large "I'm sorry" forum, apologizing for calling our leadership "spineless" or worse when they have been right all along.

This too shall pass, and GD will rise again, phoenix-like.....actually, I think of it more like the alien in Men in Black by Tony Shalhoub; no matter how many times you blow its ugly little head off, the fucker just keeps on regenerating....

16. What I have learned from GD:
1. We will have our third annual invasion of Iran this september.
2. Bush will declare martial law for the fourth time in as many years, and cancel yet another election, just as he did in '04 and '06.
3. Constant diaper jokes are funny.
4. Harry Reid is a spineless-no, wait, I like him now! Yay Harry!
