2. De gustibus non disputandum, and all that shit.

Anyway, if it the girls were going for "faux white trash," they wouldn't be paying tribute to Lissitsky and Rodchenko in their poster design.

6. They did a Bout at Summerfest a few weeks ago...
I had my kids at the local custard stand, and this woman with HOT PINK hair, a torn shirt, a knee brace and some bruises came in for an ice cream.

My 6 yr daughter was fascinated by her description of Derby, and now wants to skate when she grows up! :D

I was a proud daddy!

7. Have not seen Roller Derby in years!
Used to watch it as a kid. The Bay City Bombers with Joanie Weston. THAT woman was tough as hell and I would put my money on her in ANY bar fight.

I had no idea Roller Derby was still around.

12. Yeah, she died last year, sad to say,
but there's a documentary about her (which I haven't seen):

10. It was revived a few years ago starting in Austin, TX, I believe,
without banked tracks and scripted outcomes.

But I was a big fan in the early 70s, with the LA T-Birds and the Bay Bombers. Great drama!
