Is the hatred of Barry Bonds due to homophobia?
People only criticize Barry Bonds because he plays for San Francisco right? Now the relevant question is whether or not I should post this topic in GD

but feel free to post in GD, they could use a break from the beat downs going on over there right now :) It would be a new shiny object...

3. people hate him because he's an arrogant jerk who uses steroids.
He could play for about any team and they'd think the same thing... doesn't help that they haven't managed a world series champeenship since he signed with them.

6. I will give $50 to the first reporter to ask Barry that question.
$100 if they do it while standing within swinging distance.

11. Wouldn't be cost effective for the reporter
Sports editors aren't known for their sense of humor and he might lose some locker room access.

It's because we have an inherent sense of fair play. Footnote: I don't "hate" Bonds. I merely have no respect whatsoever for him.

You know, if the next time the s word came up from a reporter, he made a joke about it, people might forget how much of an ass he is.

Doesn't change my view that he's a cheat, though. Or do you mean because SF is considered a tolerant city? Hmmm, tenuous correlation at best; more likely specious.
