Direct TV customers- do they send your bill promptly?

I just got my bill which is due on the 21st. I have NEVER received my bill before the 15th of the month before even though it posts on the 1st of the month. I have a feeling they want to either force me to sign up for automatic payment or collect late fees. I called their customer service dept and they tried to blame the post office.

1. I usually get our bill about two weeks before it's due.

I have a recurring payment set up with my online banking billpay, though, so I don't usually think about it.
