Any Ebay experts out there (before I open this email)?
I got an email from Ebay in my work email.

Subject: Important Security Notice

thing is, I don't recall ever using my work email address when dealing with Ebay. I could have, but I just don't remember.

Do you think this email is on the up and up? Or should I delete it without opening?

1. Sounds like a spoof email
I would forward it to eBay's fraud department.

4. Don't open it
If you have an active eBay account, it would likely also have been sent as a message to that account - and then you can verify it.

5. DO NOT OPEN
it's a phishing scam. When in doubt, open a browser manually and type in the url - http://www.ebay.com and sign in. Odds are, there's no message there.

11. For future reference...
ebay or Paypal will never send you an email requesting that you go to a site by clicking on a link within the email. If you ever get one of those, you can automatically assume that it is not legitimate.

16. Ebay email will contain your ebay user name
The phishing email will just have your email name. Even if ebay wants to talk with you, you will be directed to their site to get important messages. Do not respond to this, in my opinion.

17. I get those all the time
on AOL you can click on the sender's address to get the details of where it come from. In all cases of e-mails allegedly from E-bay security, the back trail has been from yahoo, AOL or other accounts, and never from E-bay. Don't reply. Forward it to the spam department of your ISP.
