Sad thing is, I like Jim Leyland. Cannot stand Sheffield.

Leyland is the one manager I'd play for for free. There is no amount of money that would motivate me to share a dugout with Sheffield.

I am a Colts fan and have been since I moved here 15 years ago. I am from Illinois and was previously a Bears fan. The Super Bowl was kind of a win-win for me!

I was a Pacers fan, but now with their many problems, I'm not sure I can still back them. We shall see.

I just moved into a wonderful new house that we built after my husband got back from Iraq last year. It has been quite the roller coaster these past couple of years!

I'm 1gobluedem -- my screenname is a combination of my passion for the University of Michigan and being blue, i.e. progressive. I live in Ann Arbor, MI - am the development director for an NPR affiliate -single straight in a LTR relationship - three quasi-stepchildren - one sister, one brother, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law - two hale and healthy parents - I love college football, Pistons basketball, working in my garden, and reading - I collect tacky souvenirs, malt shop lit from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, belong to an online book club of the same collectors who meet in a different city each summer (Portland, OR, this year)- come from an activist household; was ringing doorbells for Eugene McCarthy when I was 8 and the first album I ever bought (same year) was the Smothers Brothers Greatest Hits.

I've been on DU since 2003; post fairly often but my posts and replies usually cause the thread to sink like a stone...

I'm allergic, and the feeling appears to be mutual in any case) - i also like being outside - i like a couple TV programs, but not a lot - i'm a pretty good guitarist (hey, we should jam sometime!) - my family lives a few hours north of me and yet I still don't get to see them as much as I'd like - i root for the four baseball teams that play where i've lived for any serious length of time (Dodgers, Rockies, Cardinals, Marlins. Oddly, all NL. But even more than rooting for them, I always make sure to root against the fucking Braves. God, I hate the Braves. I hate them like Republicans.)

I live in Illinois with kids and DH, plus an oldish beagle and a black cat. Andy Stephenson introduced me to DU (in fact, he told my son to tell me to "get on DU RIGHT NOW!!!". My son met him while volunteering to do FOIAs during the great vote stealing of 2004 and we all became fast friends. I love looking at the trees and birds around my house and am more of a homebody than I ought to be. I never took the opportunity to introduce myself when I came here, and I appreciate an invitation to do so now. Best wishes, Bertha.
