An Indianapolis man pleaded guilty this morning to child pornography and drug charges in Marion Superior Court.
Daniel P. Nanos, 39, was arrested in October after fellow workers at a CVS store in Greenwood found 17 pornographic images of young girls on Nanos' digital camera and alerted police. A search of his home on Indianapolis' Far Westside yielded a cache of similar images on his computer hard drive and disks, according to court documents.
All of the images, including those on the camera, had been downloaded from the Internet and depicted girls estimated to be 10 to 13 years old, deputy prosecutor Stephanie Wade said. Nanos faced 17 counts of child exploitation and 83 counts of possession of child pornography, plus a count of manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony.
Nanos will be sentenced Aug. 1. His plea agreement calls for a 15-year prison sentence, with five years suspended, plus three years of sex offender probation. He will have to register as a sex offender the rest of his life.
He pleaded guilty to four counts of child exploitation, two counts of possession of child pornography and the drug charge.
