I figure, that punishment would fit the crime well.

None of his dogs lived very long, 5 years in a small cage would be much like how his dogs were kept.

The fighting inherent in the prison system would be much in line with how his dogs were treated.

Crappy food, lousy care, loss of freedom.

On top of that, he can never have an animal ever again.

Enjoy your dead career and felony status, asshole.

my first instinct would have been to have him castrated via pit bull.

But realistically, a huge fine, confinement in small quarters, - the rest of what flvegan suggested.

And if he's a repeat offender, THEN we do castration via pit bull. Or perhaps alligator. Well, not really, I'd never want an animal used as an instrument of punishment or revenge.

Maybe, like they're doing with the wolves in this country, have him run for his life while hunters are buzzing over him in helicopters, shooting at him.

I just HATE the way people treat animals! HATE IT! I have to be like an ostrich with my head in the sand or else I'd either die from sorrow or go berserk. Don't want either of those.

What I would like to see is vick getting what a non professional football player would get if caught the same way.
whatever the usual guidelines are.
What I do not want to see is a slap on the wrist and a couple of public service tv spots with him holding a puppy.

However, I certainly hope that the current legal punishment is significant - heavy fines and long prison sentences. I don't think anyone should walk away from a dog-fighting conviction with a wrist-slap...
