So Mr. Writer's week completely kicked his ass...
and he's now in the bedroom sleeping it off. I feel bad for him.

I want to take him to dinner when he awakens, but we've gone veggie and he thinks that he won't be able to eat out anywhere.

I tried to convince him that virtually any place he goes will have something vegetarian, or fish (we are still eating fish) for him to eat. But he's refusing to try.

Can someone help me think of something clever (food-wise) that I can use to get him out of the house, so he can drink and have a good time? I don't get him sometimes. Going veggie was his idea, but now he seems to be doing all he can to make sure it will not work for him.

1. Got a Mexican food place there?
Cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, tortillas, chips, salsa...no meat.

4. That is a good idea...
I did suggest Tex-Mex to him, and he moaned "noooooo."

Maybe if I sexed up my delivery: "...some plush tortillas stuffed with succulent veggies, zesty cheese, and naughty salsa, rolled up and melting in your mouth..."

2. How about a good Asian place? Veg is easy there.

5. Oh - durrr. That's right!
I'd bet he'd get the plate of noodles, but that would be good comfort food for him.

3. Maybe he wants to sleep.
I've had plenty of weeks like that. Is there something you could make at home for when he wakes up?

6. There may be, but he complained that he's been eating too much zucchini...
and that's virtually all I have right now.

7. I just had some delicious wild sockeye salmon from Alaska.
If you have any restaurants nearby that serve wild salmon, would that persuade him to get up and go out?

10. Salmon is delicious. We ate some yesterday for dinner.
But as of now, it's 9pm MDT. I don't think he's waking any time soon. Poor guy. :(

Thanks :)

8. I've never had a problem getting a good vegan meal
at a Mexican, Italian, or Chinese restaurant. If I can get vegan food, you should be able to easily get vegetarian food.

Maybe you could get copies of their menus and highlight the stuff you could eat to show him.

11. I think I'm dealing with his stubborn nature.
He's a great guy, but he's also a bit fussy when it comes to food. He's Mexican, and his mother fed him rather well. I agree with everything you're saying, and maybe pulling some menus for him will show him that he has options.

13. Oh - brilliant! One that we enjoy has just re-opened.
I may suggest that. Asian food motivates him.

14. Tell him you're both gonna get wasted and run through downtown naked
But the Feds may be onto you cuz your house is bugged

So you'll need to plan the details at some public place, like a nice restaurant
