3. Same here!
I watched it for the first time the night before I auditioned for "Wait Until Dark" in my junior year of high school, and I loved the movie.

Incidentally, I was cast in the show as Alan Arkin's character. Ah, the joys of being a truly evil character...

How cool that you got to act in the play!

5. I was in 10 plays in my high school years, and that was my favorite role.
The final confrontation scene in the darkness was the best... So much fun to stage, so much fun to perform, and it was fun hearing some of the audience gasp as I lunged at my counterpart right before the light in the fridge was killed. Awesome.

That was my favorite, but a close second is when I was Oberon in a community theatre production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

6. Other than the "play" I was in in first grade, I was too shy to audition
for any others. I wish that had not been the case. I would LOVE to act in some plays, just for the fun and challenge of it.

Good for you, for being in so many!

7. I was BEYOND terrified during my first high school audition.
It was for "The Outsiders," and I remember my knees shaking a little bit as I got up there and did the audition. I was cast as an extra, so i got to be a part of the show, which really helped my confidence.

Then I auditioned for "Paint Your Wagon," and got into that, so I was less and less nervous about auditions as time went on.

I was still a little nervous at them, though - gotta have that adrenaline to keep you on your toes!

8. I agree about the adrenaline!
Don't want TOO much, but some is a good thing.

I was so shy up until my senior year in high school, that if I was walking down the street and someone was walking toward me, I would cross the street so I didn't have to pass by them.

One thing that I was never shy about was dancing. I ended up competing in some dance competitions, doing some teaching, and having a great time at it.

But, I would still love to act in a play.

9. Very cool about the dancing!
I never was very good at dancing. I have approximately 4.9 left feet, so my coordination is a little lacking. Learning the choreography for musicals was my least favorite part of doing theatre. Fortunately, after "Paint Your Wagon," I was only involved in about 5 choreographed dances my remaining 3 years - so I didn't even HAVE the opportunity to embarrass myself!

10. I love to dance! Just love it!
When I was little, I used to dance along with "Bobby and Cissy" when the Lawrence Welk Show was on. (Shows my age, I know..... ).

I was never embarassed about dancing in front of people, and it gives me a lot of joy.

I dance around the house a lot, too. :7

11. Wait Until Dark.
She also was her most beautiful in that film.

But Charade is a close second.

We missed going to see it on the National Mall Monday night, I bet it was great with all the people in suspense! So we watched it last night at home anyway.

14. She was stunning in ever film she did. I chose "My Fair Lady."
It is one of the few films I can watch over and over without getting tired of it.

15. We watched "The Nun's Story" yesterday.
She did an excellent job and the movie was interesting. It was too long (2 1/2 hours) but there were some good scenes.

17. I can watch it repeatedly, too. The scene that ALWAYS chokes me up....
....(and maybe this is because I was an English major) is when an exhausted Prof. Higgins tries to explain to Eliza the power and beauty of language (and she finally gets it). Wonderful scene, wonderful movie.
