I was about to post they were poodles, and then saw someone else already said that.

I'm as original as a ham sandwich, I will give you that much.

The poodle on the right represents the Eastern Bloc, while the poodle on the left is a member of th Western Alliances. This scene, of course, takes place after an epic gun battle that has killed every last soldier - save for these two. Out of ammo and filled with nothing but pure hatred, the Western Alliances poodle lunged at the Eastern Bloc poodle, causing the pair to exchange blows and wrestle toward a looming seaside cliff.

At this point, the Eastern Bloc poodle is on its hind legs, feet pressing into the crumbling cliffside, determined that if he takes the plunge below to his death, that he'll at least take the Western Alliances poodle with him.

And then NOBODY will know where the Jade Monkey is...

There are obviously two poodles kissing each other. Whether they're of opposite gender, though, I'm not sure. They could be two GAY poodles kissing each other. They are French, after all, right?
