Poll question: Applebees - any good in your neighborhood?
I was going to go out for vittles and a slash. (Booze)

What's your take?

1. None of the options were appropriate for me.
I think it would be OK, occasionally, if you had to go there because you were out-voted by the group. They have some OK stuff, but my couple of times I've gone the food wasn't that great. The service and management were wonderful, but the food just wasn't stellar. I'm sure if I just had a burger I'd be OK, or even a sandwich, normal stuff only, I'm sure is good. I can find something I like on any menu.
On the upside, they have a great desert menu.

2. The one near me has dreadful service.
Food is typical franchise food--hardly fine dining!

3. Once was enough!
Tasted like they'd run the food through the Flavor Extrator one time too many.

4. I can't be objective
For some reason, my mom loved Applebee's. So, Applebee's reminds me of her. And when I'm in a "I wish I could talk to my mom" mood, anything that reminds me of her is top notch.

Wish I knew why she was so fond of 'em. All I know is that, when I didn't know what to give my mom, a gift certificate to Applebee's would be well-received.

5. Thank God they make good salads, so I have something to eat there.
And also thankfully, I rarely ever need to eat at one - but sometimes, especially when I go home to the hometown and eat out with friends, they insist on the Applebee's (which, sadly, IS one of the best restaurants in my hometown...).

The rest of their food is shit, though.

I don't know why people consider it acceptable.

6. Homogenized Suburbanites Eating Homogenized Food in a Homogenized Environ
Applebees blows in so many ways, where to even begin.

I always attempt to eat at a locally owned restaurant where I know the money is staying at home.
