Anyone else sending their first child off to college?

Sad, nervous, anxious, ;( Me, not him.

Any advice from those who have been through this?

1. He'll be fine

Our oldest is starting his senior year, our youngest is heading off for the first time. Luckily they'll be close to each other. I had a hard time when my son went away. We used to bike, climb, and go to shows together. It was like losing a friend. Our daughter is more independant and we just don't see her that much as it is.

We're planning on setting up Skype so we can chat with them. Might make things easier on you if you can see him and not just hear him.

If they school has a parents weekend scheduled plan on attending. Usually its a month into year and breaks up the long stretch between begining of the year and Thanksgiving.

I'm sure the feelings are a little alike, although mine doesn't have such a high price tag!
