So an indian black buck froze to death at the zoo.
And after a bit of discussion, we all decided to chip in and butcher it. Is that ethical?

Copycat thread? Yes.

Made up story? Most definitely, no...

4. The guy who owned the farm I lived on about ten years ago
Had a pair of young beefs he was going to turn into a pulling team of oxen. They loaded them onto a trailer and one of them got hung up in some trailing rope and strangled itself.

All of the residents came pouring out of their houses sharpening knives. I mean, no sense in wasting all that meat and it was good, young and tender.

Hey, I'm a carnivore.

5. You can also learn a heck of a lot of anatomy that way
When I was 8 years old, my dad used to come home with a live baby goat in the back of the truck. He'd hand me the goat an a bucket and send me to the neighbor across the street to get it butchered. The neighbor would butcher it, put the meat in the bucket, and keep the pelt as payment for his services.

I've always felt it's important to know where our food comes from and not sanitize or disguise the facts.

6. The zoo keeper agrees with you.
He's the one that offered the animal to us, so it would not go to waste.
