2. Well, I know I'm heading for the hills!
My husband is Pakistani, so I have vicariously experienced what you are experiencing many times!

3. Indian is capitalized. And Indian food is wonderfully tasty!!
We had a MAGNIFICENT Indian restaurant with a fantastic lunch buffet in my little backwater of a town for almost a year, but it went out of business. It was the closest Indian food for 120 miles.

And I know what you mean by curry backlash - it didn't happen to me often, but every now and again... it has a way of coming back and saying, "Remember you had curry last night? Yeah, well, you do now. HA HA!"

God, I love Indian food.

6. That must be tough...
We have maybe 6 places here in town, and if I tire of that, there's a whole slew of Southeast Asian restaurants, Brazilian restaurants, etc... just tons of authentic ethnic eateries. I love my town :)

7. It does suck. One of the disadvantages of not living in a giant city any more.
On the other hand, I can sleep at night because no one's blasting their fucking music at all hours of the night, and I can watch the deer, squirrels, songbirds, hawks, wild turkeys, geese, ducks, and other animals in my yard.

I think it's worth giving up curry for that. :-)

(I still miss it, though...)

10. I may really get sick of Chicago, but I never get sick of the restaurants here.
There's an entire street lined with Indian restaurants, and plenty of other Indian restaurants dotted throughout the city. I'm sorry Rabrrrrr. That sucks. If you ever visit Chicago I can give you a few places to try.

5. Loved Indain when I was in London.
Our offices were right next to Camden Lock Market, which had the best indian food stall!

Can't find Indian in Wisconsin outside of Madison and Milwaukee.
