Killed 4 black widows today, one was almost in the house - and there are more...

Damn I hate those things.

Anyone else seeing em around a lot in their neck of the woods (Southern California here)?

1. The only time I saw one was in North Carolina

I was visiting my Aunt and Uncle who lived out in the country next door to a cemetary. My sister and I were walking around the tombstones, and I remember there was this large black kettle type object and when we turned it over there was a spiders nest and a black widow spider inside. how creepy is that!

A friend of mine who works for the UN was doing a stint in Haiti, and 2x she had a tarantula in her hotel room.

I don't know which is worse. Black widow I guess because I think tarantula bites are akin to bee stings.

2. We've always had lots of them.

Inside and outside. I found a couple in my lower kitchen cabinet not too long ago. I was reaching back for something and, luckily, I felt the web. Because we have fruits and veggies growing pretty much year 'round, not to mention my 7 kitties, I won't use insecticide. I just kill them whenever I see them.
