i-Pod question

When it shows "do not disconnect" while charging, what it really should read on the display is: "If you disconnect this while charging, no matter how tired you are, and no matter how late at night it is, you are SCREWN!!"

Did I kill it?

1. You didn't kill it.

You shouldn't disconnect without ensuring that the iPod was ejected from iTunes. However, it's really not that hard to fix.

First, push the Hold switch a few times. That should pause whatever inner workings are happening.

Then, hold the menu button (at the top of the wheel) and the select button (the round one in the middle) down for a few seconds. Don't move your fingers too much, because the reset won't work if you're touching the wheel outside of the menu button.

If the iPod doesn't reboot, then try again. My iPod has survived some fairly unfortunate situations. (I've disconnected plenty of times, when I shouldn't have). The reboot has always worked.

Sometimes it takes a few times and you have to hold the buttons for a while.

I hope your iPod gets better. :)

4. Yes, you really have to hold it down for awhile. I did the same thing but was
able to reset and then it was fine.

5. Well, I finally got it to turn off
I think I'll try charging it in the car, since it didn't charge last night on the computer for some reason. :( Thanks again for your help... both of you.
