Our peach tree is so full of peaches
that the branches are buckling and breaking off. We usually get a late snow storm that kills the blossoms, but this year we got lucky. Perhaps I can talk my Grandmother into making a peach pie or cobbler. Been going out about every hour to pick a peach to eat. You can even smell the peaches as you approach the tree. The peach tree started about 30 years ago when my Grandfather tossed a peach pit in the garden, the tree took and thrived!!

2. I love that stage -- when you can smell the fruit as you walk by.
I have a baby peach tree and I'm thinking that next year we may be able to get a peck of peaches from it.

I've been tempted to toss pits in the yard on a lark. I have heavy clay soil and it would be a miracle if anything germinated in an unamended area but nature finds a way. I'm thinking walnuts, almonds, and other nuts.

3. If I had time, I'd volunteer.
I used to love to bake but everyone in my family pretty much avoids the pies, etc. I'd love to make peach jam. Unfortunately, there's a wedding coming up in the family or I'd come get some. Aren't you in Denver?

That's cool that your tree started from your grandfather's tossed out pit. Good story.

9. Isn't it amazing how that one peach pit
can turn into something so fulfilling years later?

Enjoy your peaches. Sounds and smells wonderful.

He also smiling that you are enjoying the peaches. Neat story

11. I lurve peaches!
:)

I used to buy a crate of them at the farmers market when I lived in the mountains. What kind are they? Some say Georgia Belles are the best, but the best peaches I have ever had were a kind called Laurens that I have never found again. :hi:
