He made some classic movies, but he also made a lot of junk. He knew he was liable to die young, so he took any job that he could get to leave some money for his family.

I like Dennis Farina, but it's just not the same. I really miss him, he made, over the course of YEARS, the Lenny Brisco character very real within the limited personal story framework that L&O has.

52. Another vote for Mr. Orbach here.
He lasted for two episodes of L&O: Trial by Jury," and in the second one he was so sick that they had to rewrite his final scene to make it a whispering scene because he couldn't speak any louder than that. Saddest thing I've seen on television.

The show lasted for another ten episodes or so, and not once after that second episode did they address Lenny's absence. :(

64. Jerry Orbach was a great song-and-dance man on Broadway

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Orbach

Orbach was an accomplished Broadway and off-Broadway actor. His first major role was that of El Gallo in the original cast of the decades-running hit The Fantasticks. He also starred in Carnival!, the musical version of the movie Lili. He also starred in a revival of Guys and Dolls (Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical), Promises, Promises (Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical), the original productions of Chicago (Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical) and 42nd Street, and a revival of The Cradle Will Rock.

he was 62 years old. He was still so tall, handsome and charming. It was at the Santa Monica Mall; he was campaigning for one of his sons who was running for Congress as a Democrat. (The son didn't win, unfortunately.)

said it all. I just adored that man.

Back in the late 60's I thought I had discovered the next new biggest star, an actor
named Steve Ihnat. I followed his career closely, even started a scrapbook with some
pictures of him. And then he died in 1972. He wasn't even forty years old, yet.

I wasn't a huge fan of John Ritter's, in that I wasn't breathlessly panting for his next best thing. Yet I was sad when he died, because I knew he was one of the good guys and he had a beautiful smile (and grew up on "Three's Company").

Phil Hartman's death was so tragic and such a waste.

Gilda Radner was so sad, because she brought so many laughs into the world.
