Legalize polydactyls!
When double-pawed kitties are outlawed, only outlaws will have double-pawed kitties!

2. my children were both born polydactyl
#1 child had 11 fingers, #2 had 12. I was afraid to keep reproducing after that, terrified at what extra part a third child might have. My 14 year old now complains that I violated her person by having her 11th digit removed. To this I reply "oy, get over yourself" I do, however, wish I had taken better pictures of it before they were removed.

3. Your 14 year old does realize that it would've been harder to do later in life

8. She actually still has a remnant
it's just a little stump really. The hand surgeon told us that before she started kindergarten we should bring her in for surgery. She doesn't want to have the stump removed. She thinks it's really cool. It was only a partial finger to begin with so it wouldn't have been functional (basically it was like a two-headed pinky sorta). But what the hell, I'm not going to enforce total conformity. If it had been a functional finger I might reconsider and think that it was mutilation for the purpose of aesthetics but given its lack of functionality I felt that the decision to have it removed was the correct one. The original surgeon told me that as far as trauma, it's a lot less traumatic for an infant than circumcision. heee! now we should discuss circumcision with cornflakes at the Olive Garden.

5. Did you know the Hemingway kitties are polys?
The kitties at the Hemingway House in Key West are descendants of the cats that lived there when Hemingway did. They are polydactyls.

An odd bit of trivia I picked up years ago when I went there.
