1. Wildenstein
Jesus! She looks freakish! She must have some serious emotional issues to mutilate herself that way.

3. Melanie Griffith is the one that bothers me the most
She "was" cute.. Why on earth did she mutilate her face??..Those ugly fish lips are gross..

and Cher too.. I liked the way she looked.. She had character..and she was exotic... She would have made a great-looking older woman..

These cutesy actresses don't know it, but they are killing their future careers..

5. Melanie is a disaster
She had pretty, soft features that would have aged well. She looks stretched and tight and plastic now!

6. Meg Ryan
She was beautiful. Why did she do what she did?

Here's a concept, for looking young- use suncreen, don't smoke, don't drink (or make it minimal), and eat healthy. Works for me anyway.

7. I think that sometimes the cute "ingenue" types , find themselves
30-something, and they cannot bear to be "grown-up".. What they do not realize is that the teenybopper roles were their training ground, and their most valuable asset, their face, has changed as they grew into life.. They think that by trying to look younger their career will get better, but it only gets worse..

Meryl Streep and Glenn Close are prime examples.. They have aged gracefully, and they will work their whole lives , if they choose to.. The ones with altered faces will be overlooked, and if Love Boat or Fantasy Island ever returns, they can get work, but if not, they are D O N E ...

8. Talk to me in 10 years
Gravity catches up, skin is not that elastic, skin has less collagen. After a certain age (40) hormones play a part in aging. Stress does too.

The steps you are taking help, but there's a lot of other factors to aging.

I agree about Meg Ryan. What was she thinking?

9. At a certain point women just need to make friends with the face they have
and save the young pretty one for their dreams.. We are all young and beautiful in our dreams, right??..

I look at it this way.. I had the "chickie-baby 19 yr old face" and it's just not "normal" for women in their 40's & 50's to be spending so much time trying to recapture that "look".. It makes us look foolish, and we are fooliing NO ONE , (except maybe ourselves).. 20 year old guys will not be calling and following a 50 yr old, no matter how "tight" her face is, and no matter how "hot" her body still is.. (Well if you are Cher and have her money , the "Sugar-Momma" complex may kick in)..

Young guys usually want younger girls..

The face I have now, is not the oone I wanted, but it's the one I got.. (and probably the one I deserve ..)

10. A friend of mine just had her eyes done
she's 45. I honestly can't tell the difference and I don't have the heart to tell her. If it makes her happy, that's what counts.

But these celebrities I think are addicted to plastic surgery and can go out and have a nip or a tuck like you and I got to the drugstore to buy lipstick. It's a sad industry they're in.

You're a beautiful person, SoCalDem, and that's what counts!

12. I know
I mean, I see differences in myself that other people can't see, but I look at my mom who's 54 and after cancer and some pretty tough stuff in her life, she still looks like she's in her early 40's (she looks like a older, dorky version of Catherine Zeta Jones), but the "clean living" helped.

11. Another bad one was the ballerina Gelsey Kirkland
She wasn't even that old when she started getting her face rearranged, but the result was hideous.

I haven't found an "after" picture, but here's what she looked like back in the 1970s:

This is not someone who needed to have her lips doubled in size and her face recontoured.
