The reason I hate The King of Queens.
It's a shameless knockoff of Everybody Loves Raymond, only without the creepy family dynamic that set Raymond apart.

8. The MILF/Joe Sportslob thing is everywhere, ain't it?
It's the ultimate male fantasy (well, besides two women): who NEEDS to care about looks, body shape or fashion sense? That's for them there metrosexuals. The "Peter Griffins" of the world can get stacked-up hawtties anyway! It's flawless! It's like every attractive, well-groomed guy is either married or gay and this is who they're left with.

Look at most commercials - HAWT as hell, well-spoken smart articulate woman . . . and HEY, her "honey" looks like Artie Lange, only dumber looking, dressed from a clothes hamper and fresh out of wing night at O'Hanrahan's. You've GAWT to be kidding me.

19. Hasn't it been around pretty much as long as there's been TV?
I mean, Honeymooners, anyone?

22. They used the same concept
for the animated show "Father of the Pride" too. I find it very telling that they had COMPLETE control over the look of the main character and they still used the "sports slob" archtype.

2. I think it's funny
I don't see how it is like Raymond except that it's about two people that are married.

3. Any chance to see Jerry Stiller on TV is good enough for me
And Patton Oswalt doesn't hurt either.

5. Leah Reamingme
that's my reason. I can't imagine living with that...I watched her reality show and her poor husband is so henpecked it's pathetic. She is bad enough on the show but in real life she's like five times worse. the only time I've ever liked her on anything is Howard Stern, she held her own pretty good with those guys.

12. It always made me uncomfortable. She seemed like a pretender
who realized that the guy she married was somehow beneath her..and she was no prize..''his character seemed to be a guy who was always that way, and when he did not change to meet her pretentions, she went all passive aggressive on him..

I think he liked his guy friends more than her :)

9. I think it's a funny show
It's one of the only sitcoms on TV that make me laugh out loud at least a couple times every episode. Jerry Stiller is awesome as the demented dad.

Now, it's that show with Jim Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith that's the real offender in this category. Just gawdawful in every conceivable way.

10. I can't stand either show. But I might actually dislike ELR even more.
King of Queens is just pedestrian. ELR is annoying and bitchy and mean-spirited and I can't figure out why any of those people even speak to one another any more. Yuck. If I wanted to watch dysfunctional family dynamics I'd have a family reunion.

To kick Marie out of the house permanently. I was disappointed when she didn't.

18. Yeah, for someone who could be so naggy and whiny, she never
said "Enough!" to all the intrusions from his parents. There is no freaking way I would put up with my in-laws barging in whenever they felt like it. Especially if my in-laws were as annoying as those two.

14. I hate that shit.
I'd like to see a slobby woman married to a handsome man. Of course, most people would go, Ewwwww!

But a slobby man with a hottie woman? Par for the fucking course. :banghead:

16. That's called the Penultimate Male Fantasy.
One that allows the man to be as big a slob and as let-yourself-go-to-Pizza-Hut pig slovenly, frat-boy unfashionable as he wants and he can still be a desireable magnet for better-than-above-average women. Watch commercials involving married couples. Same thing.

And here I am, all this time, working out, watching what I eat, grooming myself and buying good clothes. Whutta waste.

I'm actually seeing this sort of thing more and more IRL also. That's not exactly fair that women are expected to look like Jennifer Aniston while men can be as Jack Black as they want to be.
