Hothothothothothothot...it's frickin' HOT! And also, today SUCKS.
Current temperature...106.

So much for spending labor day weekend at the beach! x(

We turned the a/c down to 72, but the thermostat still says 80. This is about day...5 of our heatwave, I think, with the last 3 days being nicely over 100. Autumn, my ass.

Also, some jackass decided to paintball my car this morning. Yup. Neon green paint all over my year-old silver car. And yes, paintballs DO leave dents.

 :nuke:

None of the other cars on the street were touched. The only difference? My car has an Edwards sticker on it. x(

I'm just hoping whoever it was got it out of their system and it doesn't escalate.

Also, not so fun to scrape paint off the car in the blazing sun.

Yup. It's been a GREAT FRICKIN' DAY.

1. So sorry!
It does not help that the dewpoints are up in the mid to high 60s either. I thought I left heat with humidity behind.

4. It's SO gross!
I have friends visiting and we were planning a beach day today, but it's in the 90s in Malibu!

We've decided to go in a few hours, have a picnic dinner, and play on the beach in the dark. ;)

6. I have yet to do the beach in the dark thing.
I think I just might see if hubby and child are up for it tonight. It will keep me out of the clay oven for a few hours.

8. Oooh, it's so fun!
The beaches are nearly deserted, and once the breeze kicks in, you actually need a jacket.

We'll be taking a lantern and a stereo...we probably won't come home until after midnight. :D

You're certainly welcome to join us!

Though I will warn you that I'm going with a bunch of friends who are varying degrees of crazy. In a good way. I just don't know how relaxing it will actually be!

I'll PM you my cell number if you're still interested. :D

It's so weird...we live in a cute little residential area where there's no crime.

I really hope it was just stupid kids. :(

That sucks. Weather can't be helped, but assholiness can.

We are actually getting a bit of a breather from stifling heat this weekend...although the 90's are back tomorrow:-(

I can't wait for fall!

7. True enough.
I'm hoping it was a silly prank and it won't happen again, but I'm worried about finding a broken window or something next. :(

I just can't imagine anyone in my neighborhood would do such a thing...

10. Open windows?! Sigh...
We won't be opening windows any time soon...cuz not only is it 106, it's also relatively humid and there's NO breeze. UGH!

As for the car...I don't get it. I really don't. It's the last thing I would have expected in this neighborhood. I'm assuming it was the Edwards sticker, but...this is Los Angeles, and a liberal area of LA at that...I'm just...

I had my car plastered in Dem stickers when I lived in Nebraska and the worst that happened was a few one-finger salutes.

Just...

Not the heat, but there is a gathering at the Catholic Church across the street, and I can hear the Mexican Fiesta music over my Television. It's really starting to tick me off.

Aw, sweetie......the world is full of assholes, isn't it?

I'm really sorry about your car...

I almost feel responsible for it...I did encourage you to move out here...

And as for the heat...even here, we're suffering...

I hate to say this, but it might not get cold till January... :yoiks:

17. Oh goodness...
You're not responsible in the slightest, it could have happened anywhere!

I'm pissed about the dents, but...not much can be done. I just really hope they don't do anything else.

The heat is insanity. We're thinking of leaving for the beach in about an hour, but nobody really wants to move. Though I'm sure that by the time we get there, it will be much more comfortable than it is here.

January?! NOOOOOO...

This is actually making me miss a midwestern fall... ;)

30. Heat in Dallas? Not so bad
I have no idea why unless global warming factors into this, but our summer was wetter than usual and didn't have too many 100+ days.

31. Well, the rest of our summer
actually wasn't that bad. I'll let people who have lived here longer speak to this, but I believe it was fairly close to "normal". It was certainly far more temperate than last summer!

But then again, our winter was really cold and horribly dry...so all is not right here either.

33. That's why I don't put stickers on my car
I never changed or decided my vote because of a sticker, and they "billboard" the car. But sorry that happened! x(

Also: Autumn begins officially September 21, but in SoCal, it can be late October or November before any lasting coolness brings us relief. This is the nastiest Labor Day weekend in memory. We usually go to the parade in Wilmington (great display of the local unions and so forth), but may pass this year.

Things aren't going to improve much for you when the Trojans hand you all your ass soon. ;-) :P
