My governor sounds like Gomer Pyle.
Is it just me, or does Bob Riley sound like Gomer Pyle?
I'm seeing his pro-McKinney (repug running for our state senator) commercials now.
I keep expecting him to say "Gah-ah-AH-lee!".

Is it just me, or does Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) bear a striking resemblance to Richard 'Dick' Cheney.
They both talk out of one side of their mouths.
Ever notice?

I think Cheney favors the left side (HORRORS!) and Shelby the right.
Eddie Robinson wannabes?
'Little Caesar?
"OK, you guys. Lissen up. This is Rico speaking. Rico! R-I-C-O! Rico! Little Caesar, that's who! Listen, you crummy, flat-footed copper, I'll show you whether I've lost my nerve and my brains! You want me, you're going to have to come and get me!"

Just wondered.

3. My governor is turning into an asshole
Sorry, but for me, Rod is becoming quite the asshole. Hell, he'll probably be indicted in a couple of years anyway.

6. There's always that to hope for.
I'd love to know what Pat Quinn says about Blago privately.

7. I bet Pat Quinn despises him.
Hell, I would if I were manacled to that asshole.

The wrong man is governor in this particular case.

8. I imagine he does and sees him as a buffoon.
You're right about the wrong man being governor. I am a big fan of Paul Vallas. Did you know that his 2002 primary night party was held at St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church at Sheridan and Hollywood? Despite the fact he lived on the South Side, it was his church. I thought that was a cool place to wait out the primary results instead of the usual flashy downtown hotel.

9. I'm sorry Paul Vallas lost
He had a good record. He seems like a good man.

Rod Blagojevich is only out for Rod Blagojevich. I see that now. A self-absorbed jerk who cares only about playing politics and furthering himself.

10. The mayor of Boulder from a few years ago talks EXACTLY like Milton from Office Space.
The voice is so eerily similar, the first time he came into the coffee shop I used to work at hen I was at the University of Colorado, I had to do a double take. He has a weird mumbly voice that is so similar to Milton's it was surprising and hilarious.

15. Did you know that Gomer is a woman's name?
And not a woman you'd name a kid after at that.

"When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, ‘Go, take for yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the Lord.’ 3So he went and took Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son."

I never understood why they chose the name "Gomer" for that character.

I think about things like that....too much.

17. With a headline like that, I suspected you might be in Alabama.
I'm just sitting here in Florida grateful we don't have a Bush in Tallahassee. Still stuck with a Republican, but thank heavens it isen't a Bush.
