Wow. Fox Sports has already decided that the Yankees will
be in the playoffs.

Uh, guys, maybe they will, but there are still a few weeks left in the regular season, you clowns! :grr:

1. Alas--they're probably right...
Edited on Sun Sep-09-07 04:51 PM by Arkham House
...the Yankees were the most under-achieving team I've ever seen thru June...they had the best runs scored/runs allowed ratio in the AL, and still couldn't get up over .500...dammit, they're a *good* team. Now--if certain teams I won't mention could start winning a few games now and then, perhaps we might still have a race...:D

2. Sometimes, in the evil recesses of my mind, I think the Yankees
deliberately play badly for the first half of the season.

3. Yeah, well two weeks ago
the Mariners had the lead in the WC race. Now they are behind the Yanks and Detroit. Losing 14 of the last 16 will do things like that.

7. True.
Yeah, maybe the Yankees will make it, but I think they should wait for another couple of weeks before they start spouting their mouths off about it.

9. Don't worry
My beloved Florida Marlins took down Yankees in World Series in 2003. You should have seen me! I was like this:

:woohoo: :applause:  :toast: :bounce:

Theme was Star War. When Yankees won in 2nd, the headline in the Miami Herald goes like this:

EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

But at end we won! (6th game) It was funny when they used Star War theme on TV for Florida Marlins (underdog - Skywalker Luke) and Yankees (super multi-millionaire - Darth Vadar). I lived in Miami then.

May the Force be with you :hi:

12. Fox News was already crowning Chicago Cubs
back in 2003 but Florida Marlins won and got in WS. Then Fox crowned Yankees, Marlins took them down in WS. I knew you weren't Yankees fan. LOL Me, neither!

13. Well, with some of the calls the Yankees got in the recent Mariners series....
I'm beginning to think that MLB has put out the word that a Yankee-less playoff would ot be appreciated by the bean counters..

14. Oh man, there were some really bad calls in that series.
I know sometimes umps make honest mistakes, but there were some blatant things that happened that just cannot be excused.

16. F***ing Yankees
http://www.theonion.com/content/news/fucking_yankees_reports_nation

BOSTON—Moments after the New York Yankees continued a month-long stretch that has seen them climb from the bottom of the AL East to pull within a once unfathomable four games of the first-place Red Sox by defeating the Baltimore Orioles Monday night, stunned and enraged baseball fans across America took a moment to shake their heads in disbelief and curse dejectedly at the relentless inevitability of Yankee glory.

"Fucking Yankees," said Marshfield, MA resident and longtime Red Sox fan Lawrence Broberg, echoing the sentiments of thousands of men and woman across the nation. "Every year. Every goddamn year."

22. You have to remember one thing,
the Fox announcers have schoolgirl crushes on the likes of ARod, Derek Jeter and Joe Torre, just to name a few. To them, Joe Torre is a genius. They don't remember one thing: when the Yankees were winning the WS in the 90s, they were so loaded with talent that your grandmother could have managed the team.
