People? About the poem threads. I've opened up a vein here, folks.

I've gotten emotionally naked for you. These poems reflect just about the most personal side to me that exists. (I've also spent a lot of hours ransacking my entire house to locate and transcribe them, many of which come from small, out-of-print quarterlies and collections that are the only places they can be found—other than this site.) Due to the intense nature of some of these pieces, the process of typing them up and posting them has left me kinda wiped out.

And I'm not just posting them for me. I'm trying to tailor these selections to issues raised for discussion here, to the "mood" of the site and the nation. I'm hoping some can be as personally relevant to the lives of posters here as they have been to my life.

So, it would be great if posters could, you know, READ my poem threads. If you don't want to post a comment or don't feel comfortable posting a comment, fine. But I'd like to see them getting more views.

1. Don't worry- few people read my poetry posts either.
It's not about you- everybody in the lounge (other than me) is simply a git, and should be assumed to be git-like in nature. Y'see, gits don't DO poetry.

BTW, yes, I'm kidding. They're not REALLY gits.

Not quite.

3. Hey, I got an idea for you for those threads
Make em a poll and ask what they thought of the poems, people love to take polls (and be poetic with the choices) :)

4. My dear BlueIris...
We all appreciate your efforts...

I think, though, that you're working too hard at it...

Perhaps you should drop the bonus thread...

I'm thinking I'd do that, if I were you...

7. The bonus threads serve a specific purpose.
It's kinda hard to explain.

8. I hadn't realized that...
It seems to me that you've burdened yourself with these threads...

And that cannot be good...

12. Burdened myself. Hmmm. And yet it was something I felt I was being called to do.
And I know they have reached a few people. So maybe I just need to suck it up and enjoy the few positive responses I have received about them (including yours, of course).

5. A good writer friend of mine once said
"The problem with poetry is that very few people read it."

I do like poetry and I read your poetry threads every time I see one posted, but you are probably never going to get a 100 response thread with one of your poems. Or even 100 views. I think the problem is that few people appreciate real art. I've been to the Dayton Art Institute in my home town many times and I've never seen more than ten people there at one time checking things out. And this is a sizeable museum with eras represented from the Stone Age to the present. And it's free!
