Though there were a couple of "Republicans"* there.

*meaning "I'm a Republican, but I hate Bush."

6. High on pot discussions are always fun too
And perhaps better because some people are more likely to get really angry, in a bad way, when drunk. That doesn't happen as much on pot.

7. Depends on the people involved.
If you've got decent thinkers on both sides who can take their drink then it can be great fun and very illuminating to see how much more vociferous people become once their guards are lowered. On the other hand, if folk aren't such great thinkers or just get mindlessly blotto...then nothing interesting happens (in my experience).
