60-Tonne Decomposing Whale Explodes On Taiwan Street - Many Injured
OK. I was kidding about the injured, but the damn whale did blow up real good.

TAIPEI, Jan 29 (Reuters) - The decomposing remains of a 60-tonne sperm whale exploded on a busy Taiwan street, showering nearby cars and shops with blood and organs and stopping traffic for hours, local newspapers said.

The 17 metre (56 foot) dead whale had been on a truck headed for an autopsy at a university earlier this week, when gases from internal decay caused its entrails to explode in the southern city of Tainan.

6. Dead whale stories....No Sharks, I guess....
I read something recently, Oh, i think it was the story about that huge gelatinous mass that washed ashore someplace, a marine biologist was quoted as saying something about when whales die, they float around rotting until the bones fall out the bottom of the skin, then the skin washes ashore someplace...
Not sure if that's relevant, but it's "10-y-o boy cool"....:7

7. Was a recent mystery
There have been sightings of gelatenous masses washing ashore around the world. It was usually assumed it was a squid carcas or something more obscure. The most recent sighting got hit by modern technology and they were able to identify it as a whale carcas.
