Ever get lost in the woods?
For how long? What happened? Who came to your rescue?

2. yes
I was about 8
In Colorado - was out fishing on my own and got lost trying to find the camp site - No one came to my aid. I finally found camp and it was after dark and I was skeeeered! I did manage to bring a whole string of trout back with me but the getting lost part was horrible. It was by luck that I found the camp site.

3. Yes. I was four.
I went to go visit the neighbor kid at my grandparents' house up near Yosemite.

I got lost along the way and wandered around in the woods all afternoon.

I wasn't scared because I was with their dog, and I knew the dog would go home eventually.

I followed the dog under bushes and through fences for hours.

Eventually I came out to a road and a man in an SUV pulled up. He asked if I was (XemaSab) and I said I was. He said he was with the volunteer fire department, and he took me back to the house.

Good times.

4. No, I never could. Though I used to try as a kid.
I have too good a sense of direction.

Back when I was a kid and we went on lots of picnics in the forest preserves, I always tried to get lost. Never could. Once I found this stream in a forest preserve (can't remember where exactly, somewhere north though in Cook County) and it had this real clean, pure water that was delicious. Remember, this was a LONG time ago.

The mother of the other kid who was there was all torqued up about us drinking stream water. So my parents accompanied us to the place where said water was flowing, tried it and said there was nothing wrong with the water. But they could not convince the other parents. So I got to drink to my heart's content.

6. No, I always knew where I was
Even if I wasn't sure how to get back to where I started. :P

Seriously, no. I grew up roaming the woods - noticing my direction, landmarks, etc. and telling time by the sky was always second nature. We used to try to get lost as kids, with a singular lack of success.

7. I got dehydrated and lost my way for about an hour or so.
I had to sit down and wait til some other hikers came by. It was embarrassing as hell because I was working for the Appalachian Mtn. Club at the time. The hikers gave me some water and I was able to orient myself and get back to where I started. I learned my lesson after that to never hike alone.

Only other time I ran into trouble was being above treeline and having the weather change. That is way scarier than getting lost.

8. Yes.
No one. I found my own way out.

They weren't very big woods, but still. It's scary when you a little kid.
