How do you fry sausage in an iron skillet?
It's been frying over high heat for about 10 min now with no browning. What the hell am I doing wrong? I can't believe I don't know how to do this.

1. Weird! Is it ground? You fry it pretty much like you would fry hamburger meat!

2. eh?
What kind of sausage? Is there enough fat in it?

It should be burnt to a crisp if you're cooking over highheat for 10 minutes!

A - turn it down!

B - Don't turn too often.

7. If it's breakfast sausage you're talking about ...
Add a little butter or cooking oil, and then turn up the heat a bit.

9. It won't brown without some fat or oil.
You're already overcooked them though.

10. Links, patties, or ground?
I parboil links and patties first, pour off the liquid and then brown them. Ground should brown just like ground beef.

11. If you have a splatter guard cover try adding 1/4 cup of water.
Or just stand back and put a lid on it until the water boils low.
The fat inside the sausage needs to heat before it will brown.
