1. Hey, there's some great stuff on that site
The Danger of Positive Thinking

Likely you've seen someone infected by the new drug epidemic. Perhaps you have and didn't know it, because, unlike those addicted to conventional narcotics, those afflicted by this scourge are usually well dressed, possess all their teeth and sleep in condominiums and houses in the suburbs instead of on park benches and in trees, but they are among us. They are the ones seen silently meditating at the wheels of their cars in your company's parking lot at 7:58 in the morning, or beating a well worn path between the yoga center and the smoothie shop at your local strip mall. They’re the ones who are always happy, always looking on the bright side. In case you're not sure, they're the ones whose teeth your gut instinct is telling you to knock out of their incessantly smiling face.

They’ve been to a seminar. They’ve watched a video one of their other self-lobotomized friends passed on with the standard endorsement, “This will change your life”. They’ve subscribed to a pseudo-scientific belief that by making the conscious decision to think positively about the world and their lives, no matter what, good things will happen to them through the “Law of Attraction”.

These people are retarded.

4. Thanks, I made it myself
however, I should disclaim that it is, to a degree, satire. I'm not THAT cynical.

15. People who write this shit should be beaten with a hammer...
Positive thinking leads to positive action which leads to an all around better world. But let's just make fun of it because we're shallow, self-absorbed assholes.

17. Yes - beating people with hammers is very positive.
You know who else liked to call people shallow, self-absorbed assholes?

That's right. Hitler.

18. It's irony.
Get it? Apparently not.

Regardless, making fun of people for trying to be a positive force in the world is fucked up, shallow, and ignorant.

If you spit in the face of your fellow humans, you get spat back upon. If you're decent, cheerful, and positive, people respond to it.

Stop being a scold, and go work on your next GD opus.

5. I used to get scary religious pamphlets in my candy bag when my
family lived in Houston.

Crazy bat-shit stuff like: "In this pamphlet you will read about how one night...Richard went to HELL! That's right, my friends, he looked into the pit of Hell one awful night and saw his soul burning there in agony FOREVER!!! But this story has a happy ending...Richard received a second chance! That's right! He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and saved himself from the fiery pit of Hell. And you can, too! Did you KNOW your soul was in danger of burning in Hell? Can you feel the flames even now? Do you want to be saved???..." and so on.

Why would anyone want to frighten children with this crap? And I'm a Christian myself. Don't see the need to foist craptastic stuff like this on people.

6. They're quite common
Designed to resemble mini-comic books, the evangelicals pump those things out like mad and distribute them in lieu of candy on Halloween (i.e. Satan's birthday), and if it weren't for the fact that they're designed to entice children only to scare the shit out of them with a bunch of fear mongering gobbledeegook, they'd merely be hilarious

8. He obviously hates us...
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 12:20 AM by Jamastiene
There is no God, and if there is he obviously hates us, so what use is it? Yep, that sounds like my philosophy too. I wish I could get some of these to pass around.

14. The priest over at St Casimir's will probably be handing out indulgences.
And he'll call them "salvation candies". My prediction: the children will not be impressed.
