When I was about 14, though, the local Top 40 station had it in rotation as a novelty. I had no idea then it was from "Sesame Street;" I thought it was just a silly song.

I actually called to request it once. :D

I think it must've been Pat O'Shea. That dude was absolutely the nuttiest DJ I ever knew. One night, he put a trash can on his head (he said) and banged on it while talking between songs.

Guess his nuttiness was real, though. He got fired at KDON, then re-hired, then fired again and went to a Bakersfield station. Got fired there and went somewhere in Arizona. I guess he got fired again, because he killed himself.

That sucks.
