Check in if you're enjoying the upside-down college football landscape
This particular undisclosed location is Columbia SC, so I guess you can imagine that I'm pretty enthusiastically in favor. Especially since Stanford beat Southern Cal yesterday, making Downtown U. for one brief shining moment the USC. Admittedly, from the time he stepped on campus, I was dreading the "Smelley leads the 'Cocks" headlines, but now that it happened, I'm somehow at peace with it.

And you?

2. I have mixed feelings about it.
Every year, I hope that there are no undefeated teams. Or lots of 'em. Then maybe that will force the issue of a playoff system. But then I think, I LOVE the fact that every fucking game counts. Unlike NFL, basketball, baseball, etc, you can't just lose a couple of games and hope to squeak into the championship.

It's a conundrum...

3. Say any two of Cal, So. Car., BC or So. Fla. win out
and nobody else has less than two losses. They'll probably have a playoff system in place by New Year's!:)

4. You're probably right - if the big-money powerhouses get sent down
to the Keebler Cookie Bowl or something, the cries of "we've gotta do something!!" will be deafening...

5. Yeah, except for the usual Michigan State season
I love the college game, and am very much enjoying this season's excitement.

Except for the annual Spartan football collapse. Nothing new about that, but it's tiresome.

Oh, and I'm a Detroit Lions fan for 45 years. Masochist? You bet.

Now that I think about it, when do college hoops start?

6. If the QB's name is bad, how about the kicker's name?
Soccup (I probably misspelled it).

9. Considering the number of highly touted kickers we've had over the years
who completely fell on their faces, I'd imagine he could go by Lickitup and be popular. (It's Succop, by the way.) Howdy, neighbor!

7. FSU found a quarterback; we may make it back yet
Sorry, but I don't like the Gamecock's coach. I like the team, though.

10. Funny, everybody here hated Spurrier, too, right up to the minute he was hired
Ironically, his offensive geniushood had not much evidenced itself yet, but he's certainly proved a boon to recruiting.

8. My Buffs are 4-2. I can't complain!
Not to mention we beat Oklahoma last week and Baylor a couple days ago... Life is good for CU fans right now.
