28. well we got kiko from the humane society
we always get all of our animals from either the humane society or the street... too many good pets out there without homes! he was already full grown so we aren't exactly sure. however the doctor estimates that he is about 6. :hi:

46. She's a very tiny kitty, nothing but fur
Except she has paws and claws that would make a bobcat proud. We don't know how she got such big feet. In fact, when we got her as a kitten she had these giant feet so we thought she'd become a big Maine Coon type of thing. She's five now, never stopped being a kitten, and doesn't even reach six pounds soaking wet.

58. Yes, she is
Here's a full shot:

This is the only way you'll ever be able to see her. She's extremely shy, and if anyone is in the house, other than we four, she utterly vanishes. She's a good mouser, but she only wants them as playmates; she gets bored after a while and wanders off, leaving the poor mouse to stumble away as best it can.

88. They honestly don't eat much.
And as much as they wrestle with each other and tear out fur you'd think they get enough excercise to stay thin. :P

My third cat, Millie Dear, is half the size of those two. So maybe it's size runs in their family. Those two are brothers.

Now my first cat, Pixie, the Maine Coon was a big cat. He was half again bigger than the larger of these two. That was a big cat.

67. Yeah, she was a little nervous around new people
but once she got to recognize someone's scent she was cool with them. That, and once she remembered that people are warm. :) I'd pick her up and she's start wandering up and down my arm, exploring... when she was little she liked to hide out of sight between my shoulder blades. It took a while to break her of that habit, I didn't want her to fall when I couldn't see her or something. But after she was done exploring, then she'd remember that I'm warm and I'd feel a cold belly plop down against my hand.

I miss my little lizard. :(

But I've never heard of a mean leopard gecko. Probably why they're such popular pets. :)

Most bearded dragons are friendly too, except when they're teenagers. Then they get all surly... kinda like human teenagers. :) But they grow out of it.

I was actually fairly surprised at how smart Frank was though. She was my first lizard, and I wasn't expecting much. But she was smart enough to be able to figure out associations between things happening and the results afterwards. I.E., she learned that whenever my hand went into the tank but I didn't try to pick her up, I was either refilling her water bowl or giving her some mealworms in her food dish. So afterwards she'd go explore and see what I did. :) And like I mentioned, she tended to remember people. Even people she hadn't seen in a while.

75. i just love how you had a girl named frank
reminds me of a friend who named her female dog bob

she sounds like she was a sweet and smart lizard. i think a lot of lizards are smarter than some people give them credit. if the lizards out in the wild around here manage to stay clear of our cats then they must be pretty smart. ;)

81. Well, I named her before I knew what her gender was. :)
But I probably would have named her that had I known anyway... she had a band of bright blue across her eyes. So I named her after Frank Sinatra, who was occasionally referred to as 'Old Blue Eyes'. :) That band of blue isn't uncommon for leopard geckos, but she had a nifty matching band across her tail too, which I've never seen before or since. And yeah, she was definately smart. Your typical little house lizards are fast, but they don't learn from anything. She definately learned, which is a trait we usually associate with 'higher' animals like birds and mammals. She was certainly the smartest pet I've owned so far. Unless you count my roommate...

Nah, I think she was smarter. :)

I named my most recent 'pet', a crawfish I found crawling through a wal-mart parking lot, Roadkill.

I also had a couple of cuban tree frogs named Sam and Frodo. I thought about getting a grey tree frog too and naming it Gollum, but I never got around to it. :) Yeah, I'm a geek.

we had a stray cat that came around our old house that was mean. we fed him though and he took a liking to us just because we fed him, lol, but he was still a complete jerk to other animals. we also brought up dead critters all the time.

we named him saddam because we decided he looked like him and was mean.

imagine what our neighbors though when we called him at feeding time. "saadaaaammmmm! saaaadddaaaaaaammmmm!"

96. Yeah, you got me beat. :)
Then again, I haven't had enough pets to give ironic names to... maybe when I'm ready to move on I'll get another lizard. :)

113. My male Leopard is a biter
My Mom has him now...He was fine, and one day when the girl was shedding, he went nuts and ripped her shed off, giving her a wound. 2 weeks later, after some daily steroid cream, she was ok. But, he wouldn't let her back in the cage, he kept attacking. So, they live separately now, and happily. He still bites all humans though. Sigh. They look great though, at 7+years each :D

that's a female, her name is Birdie, I've had her about 8 years and she has been a darling. I pity the fool who would mess with the kid though, she is super protective of her.

80. Me and J-Bear
We found this guy under some brush, waiting to die. He was a bait dog (used by dogfighters) and was severely abused. It was 2 months before I could even touch him.

He's doing fairly well now, living with my mom and enjoying the golf course lifestyle.

Scary-ass pitbull. Obviously nothing but evil and destruction, here.

it is evil and sick. these are people that have no respect for life, human or animal.

j-bear is a sweety and very lucky to have found slaves to love him so much.

dang it makes me want a dog.

101. This is a bad quality pic
But it clearly shows the extreme weirdness that is Agatha and Dropkids relationship. The damn dog loves to get piggy back rides from Dropkid. Her tail goes about a zillion MPH and she just licks Dropkids ears like crazy. It's gotten to the point that, anytime anyone is crawling on the floor, Agatha jumps on for a ride. And she's NOT humping when she does this, which is what I thought the first time, Dropkid just has her so used to getting piggyback rides now that she expects them from everyone. I finally ot a picture of this in action yesterday.

114. She is!
She and Dropkid are damn near inseparable. She cries outside Dropkid's door when she goes to bed at night, and waits by the door when she's outside playing. She also cries at the bathroom door when she's taking a bath or just peeing. They are bestest buddies, it's so awesome to see.
