I quit smoking last month and suddenly my wife stinks!
She still smokes. It never bothered me before but now it really puts me out.

How do you tell your loved one she stinks?

1. That, my friend, appears to be a lose-lose situation
My husband chews tobacco and sometimes his breath is atrocious and he gets rather offended when I tell him so.

4. For maximum effect you shoulda posted this in GD...
Imagine the responses you could get!

"why do you care about your wife's feelings when her drug addiction is giving you cancer"

"Its her right to stink if she chooses"

and

"go suck on a tailpipe"...

7. I was thinking about saying this to her:
"It would be terribly ironic if were to give up smoking only to die of cancer from your second-hand smoke!!!"

5. My usually silver tongue fails me
Maybe I can bemoan that the tobacco smell makes me want to start smoking again. The guilt trip might have some effect!

6. See? THAT'S what we've been talking about.
Smoking stinks, and smokers don't realize how much they stink up everything, including themselves.

:)

12. Thats actually one of the things going though my mind right now...
im psyching myself up to quit in 2 months, and im thinking "god how AWFUL is my car and room going to reek"....:)...

Back in college I worked in the library, and we had this art prof who would order books from other state schools.. She must have been a 3 or 4 packer and her stench would hit me like a ton of bricks a few feet before she got to me.. It was so nauseating.. And keep in mind I was smoking at that point..

8. Saying "Honey you stink" probably wouldn't be a good choice of words

It will be tough. When I was smoking, I was totally unaware of how I smelled. It didn't even cross my mind. I quit 13 years ago and now I can tell you right away when I am interacting with a smoker, even if I haven't seen them smoking. It almost seems to come out of your pores.

I was lucky enough that my family and most of my friends were non-smokers. It made quitting easier. Is there any chance you can convince her to quit, too?

Good luck! :hi:

asked me that.

17. Make it attractive to quit
"The flowers smell wonderful, my lungs feel strong, I'm enjoying all the extra pocket money, it's worth the hassle!"
