I am BEYOND stressed
So many things are going on, and I have no time to just sit and contemplate, as I so wish to do. To wit:

1. My brother-in-law is dying in California, and I'm stuck in Texas

2. This morning I am starting a new job as an attorney - first time in my life as a PROFESSIONAL

3. We have a new kitten with mild ringworm and an intestinal parasite who is confined to one room for a few more days and is yelling his head off to get out

4. Our 12-year-old cat Monty isn't eating much of anything - I think he's stressed out about the kitten. He purrs and acts like everything is okay, but he just won't eat. I had to get out the dry food, something I hate doing, because he has stopped eating his canned Wellness, but he's hardly eating the dry food, either. I can't stay home to monitor the situation now because I have to go to work.

CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!!!

1. Well.
1 -- You can't really do anything about that..

2 -- Go to work..

3 -- The cat will be alive when you get back home..

4 -- See #3..

It is OK for animals to be uncomfortable for 8 hours. Imagine what they would go through if you didn't take care of them.

2. I think Monty has picked up on YOUR stress
Cats are really good at that. And thats probably why hes not eating...anxious about your anxiety. I actually think that if you can find extra time for Monty (and perhaps an extra treat or two) that would help both of you (a purring kitty is what has kept me sane during some VERY trying times).
The kitten will be out soon, probably.
And I addressed your other anxieties in your other thread.
Trust me, I have been in very similar situations (well not a new kitten at the same time) so I totally sympathize...

3. I hope that you feel better soon, DTBK.
That is a great deal of stress to be under. Just remember to breath. (It's easy to unknowningly hold your breath when you're under a great deal of stress, and this only makes you feel worse.)

5. I can only offer tea and sympathy
Sometimes life hits with a wallop. I'm not good at dealing with it myself but I can offer a  and my sympathy. Hope things get to an even keel soon.
