1. Sure. They're still around. At least they were recently, up in Maine. However,
I know that in one of the local malls here in Texas, there is an Orange Something-or-other and you can see the Orange Julius logo behind the new one.

That particular mall is really wierd though, it allways looks like it's going out of business, with maybe 75% of the storefronts vacant... so I figured the Orange Julius just pulled out of that location.

It was a special treat when I was younger. I remember them being in Malls, yes.

4. When my Uncle was a child
Him and his buddy used to ride bikes 15-miles one way to the only mall in town just to get an Orange Julius. Remember when they used to add a raw egg if you asked for it? They wouldn't do that today, that's for sure.

6. My mother used to put raw eggs in our home made milkshakes.
I didn't know OJ did that, too.

Kind of a one pony show, tho. Their burgers and fries weren't much.

8. I make them at home.
Edited on Thu Oct-18-07 05:29 PM by VenusRising
Ingredients:

3 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup milk*
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 banana, optional
6 regular-sized ice cubes (or until desired consistency)
Instructions:

1. Blend together orange juice concentrate, milk, water, sugar, vanilla, and banana (if using) for 1 minute.

2. Add ice cubes to blender, one at a time, blending after each one until smooth. You don't want chunks of ice in your orange julius.

*You can use any type of milk.

18. I think they do.
I started making them when I lived in Texas far away from an Orange Julius place.

If it doesn't taste exactly the same, it's pretty darn close. It's at least worth a try once.

9. Yum!
A friend of mine wrote a novel where the main character worked at Orange Julius. It was the first time I'd heard of it, but then we ran across one on vacation and gave it a try. Delicious.

17. Alien to me. Had a lot of fruity beverages I fondly remember but which are probably alien to you.
One of them came in the shape of a tetrahedron. Loved it.

26. Had them in many flavors, and no, they didn't came as a different regular polyhedron for each flavor
They were all tetrahedrons.

Although fruit juice in the shape of a icosahedron would be way cool.
