Even without having to factor in the stuff with the time zones.

My sympathies, RetroLounge. It's not for the fainthearted or uncertain, that's for sure.

It does help to have an "exit strategy" (rather, a plan for how long it's going to last until one or the other of you gets to relocate, at least for part of the year). And some kind of ritual for staying in touch (phone calls at a certain time of the day, or week, etc.). And a schedule of things you're going to try to do together -- meeting up for holidays or particular events.

98. From Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time
For distances too great to travel, you bend space to bring the two points together. Voila.

They pick it up pretty handily in the book but I think it is actually pretty difficult.

I'm rooting for you, as always. :pals:

84. Hey RL -- thinking of you ...
I just had phone conversations with a couple of friends who are in different cities from me now ... long-distance friendships can also be a bit of a bummer! We could all use some hugs right now.

Take care,

Lisa
