There's all these decked out prom kids wandering around here right now, and I really just want to go puke all over their joy.

I'm never going to get over high school, am I?

1. I didn't go to prom, but I can't say I'm bitter about it.

I mean, it was high school. Who cares?

It probably helps that I've moved around a bit, so I don't really know anyone from high school anymore, and am thus never forced to relive those lame-ass years.

i thought it was stupid and the rules were homophobic and the boy i was dating at the time was too old to bring to prom. i didnt really like the high school i went to for senior year.

no regrets

6. It's not even that I regret not going. I really don't.
Just the sight of these pretty little popular kids running around stirs up that old "outcast rage" that I lived with through high school.

I have issues from that period...

3. Wandering around now?
Are you posting from the future or the past?

If it's the future, please post the Powerball numbers for that week.

If it's the past, Condoleeza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld go into the Oval Office and tell Bush that five Brazilian soldiers were just killed in Iraq. Bush says, "That's horrible! How many is a brazillion?"

4. Oh, maybe it's homecoming? I always get the two mixed up.
The basic point behind my bitterness remains.

5. Must be homecoming,
and not PROM.

How did the OP expect to go to prom when these societal niceties are lost on him?

:P

7. I know!
But it has been 20 years! I'm sure I knew the difference then.

10. I went to my senior prom without a date
after being rejected by thirty-one different guys (and also by the Guinness Book of World Records, because apparently they don't have a neat category for things like that). x( So, yeah, just maybe a little.
