It's supposed to spin either clockwise or counterclockwise and thus somehow tell you if you're right or left brained.

It would appear by the comments at the site that for most it goes both ways. For me it's stuck in clockwise.

I think my brain is broken.

Right brain vs. Left brain

3. Spock, is that you?
Between the two of us we could conquer the world! :P

I was almost sure it was some kind of a hoax. Instead it would appear my brain is broken.

2. It's easy to make the switch.
Look at her heel as it hits the ground, and see if it doesn't allow you to see her go in the other direction.

4. No go.
I can almost see it change if I focus on just the heel, but as soon as a let my eyes drift up she's going clockwise again.

8. When I do that it's clockwise
The shadow from the raised foot appears to me to only go clockwise. If I can somehow ignore that one shadow (i.e. look only at the heel or using only my peripheral vision) then it appears to turn counterclockwise.

It seems odd to me that others see it turning counterclockwise. My brain is positive it should be turning clockwise.

I wonder if this means if I'm to be logical I have to peek at the world out of the corner of my eye?

12. I wonder if that means you have a balanced brain?
Not that I plan on putting ANY stock in the thing since she's refuses to spin counterclockwise for me.

It's obviously flawed. :P

Edited on Sun Oct-21-07 10:42 PM by Whoa_Nelly
cool!

(on edit: was a professional ballet/jazz dancer/teacher/choreographer for over 35 years. And when a dancer learns a move in one direction, the other direction also has to be learned and danced...maybe that has something to do with it... )

13. It might.
It could be a learned response.

Dancers as a whole are extremely balanced when it comes to all things involving motion. Yet they're also very creative and by the standards of right or left brain (if you buy into that) they'd lean more right than left.

15. She goes both ways for me without much effort
I don't find this unusual. I've taken other left brain/ right brain test before and have gotten similar results.

In my case it's resulted in a practical, business oriented artist. For the uninitiated, practical and artist are almost never used in the same sentence.

16. At first glance it was counter-clockwise
But if I looked away and looked back, I could get her to change direction. Couldn't do it while staring at her, though. I was focusing on her hips for some reason.

Hmph. though I was a boob man...

17. Although with concentration I can make her spin counter
she keeps going right back to spinning clockwise, which doesn't surprise me in the least- the right-brain commentary describes me perfectly.

25. She needs to turn up the thermostat
That said, I see her going clockwise. I can switch her the other direction only with the greatest effort, and even then it only lasts a second or two before flipping back.

This comes as no surprise to me.
