I just got home... is everyone safe?
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 09:30 PM by XemaSab
My best friend's work probably burned down. We had people coming in to the store today who were refugees from all the smoke in Ventura.

I hope everyone's okay. :pals:

And on edit: so far there are no fires in this area, so I'm fine. Thanks for asking. :pals:

3. I updated my OP.
Things seem safe here. It's not windy here, so we should be okay (knock on wood). It sounds like a lot of the fires have been from downed power lines, and three nights ago things were WAILING, but nothing happened other than a lot of wind. :P

I will now proceed to use the word "village" in every single post because it apparently irritates some people.

All you villagers go on over to the above link...

4. Smokey, hazy and windy here in the north OC.
Kinda sounds like three new Snow White characters, don't it?

My eyes are pretty sore and the car has a fine layer of dust on it, but so far nothing has spontaneously combusted.

10. Glad you're doing good. I know you're not far from that area.
I'm ok, too. We're far enough in the city that fires may run aross the tops of the mountains north of us, but our town is fine. There is enough empty space between us and the mountains that the firemen are able to get it under control.

There is a very small little town just noth of me that has terrible winds. The kind of winds that tear roofs apart in the night and knock down trees. I hope those winds stay calm, otherwise, things might get real bad.

17. Everyone be well-- get out at the first doubt of safety.
Sorry to say, but if this even begins to threaten you, start packing up the treasured posessions and just go.
