Movie character question for any DU-ers who remember comedies from 40's,50's:
There's this character actor I'm trying to remember. I've seen him in a few Three Stooges movies and possibly in a Marx Brothers movie. He was an obese actor and as far as I know always played effemenate, overgrown-baby types. He would slap at people in sort of a sissified way.

LOL, that's it. If anyone can remember this D-List actor from decades ago, I'd be grateful.

Georgie something, maybe?

NOT Fattie Arbuckle.

Thanks!

PB

1. I'm trying to think of men it might have been...
Louis Calhern was in one or two Marx Brothers movies, I think, but I don't think he was necessarily obese.

S.Z. (Cuddles) Sakal maybe? Very cute little short older man who was a little portly.

Have you checked IMDB? Maybe do searches for the Three Stooges or the Marx Brothers and see if any of the same names pop up?

The guy who said stuff like, "Oooooo, you play too ROUGH!"

Dunno his name, though.

4. Try these websites.
Also, someone at Turner Classic Movies (or at a fan website, or IMDB) might have an idea. You might look for online movie forums. I had excellent luck at IMDB once. I described a British TV film I'd seen back in the '80s and within six to 12 hours someone had posted a reply with the exact name of the film.

Good luck!
