For the first time in nearly three days...
We have our windows open, and the air conditioning off...

The air is cool, and it smells good...

The moon is full, brilliant......and white!

Finally

What a relief...

13. KitchenWitch, both of us are thinking about you tonight.
Our daughter flew into Anaheim this morning for a company function. She was going to visit a friend in San Diego, but the woman has been evacuated because of the fires.

We're hoping for better days for all of you Californians. What a terrible tragedy, especially the possible arson involved.

Stay well, sincerely,

Al (Radio_Lady's husband)

14. I appreciate yours and your wife's good thoughts!
This has been surreal. I think this crisis is almost over. We will stay safe, even if we have to evacuate (which does not seem likely now, since the fire is in more of a wilderness area now).

I hope your daughter stays safe as well.

4. Good news, Peggy. We flew from Utah to Oregon on Tuesday, and the
pilot pointed out the dark sky over Los Angeles.

We're very glad to hear you're OK.

Best,

Al

10. My dear JulieRB!
Oh, thank you, sweetie...

We haven't suffered, not really, compared to some folks...

It is nice being able to finally open our windows, though...

8. My dear CaliforniaPeggy!
It's beautiful here in Michigan as well... but a little on the chilly side!

That's okay, I'll take colder weather over hot weather any day!

9. Hi C-P.
Edited on Fri Oct-26-07 12:37 AM by puerco-bellies
I can still smell smoke. Tonight it seemed that it was slightly stronger towards Venice (I take a night class there). I was thinking to myself that the humidity must be up for me to notice an increase in the oder. On Tuesdays, and Thursdays I head to Venice via Rosecrans and Dockweiler. The setting sun is aligned with Rosecrans and with the wind calm the water is so smooth and glassy. The red reflection spreads across a third of the water.. quite a sight to see.

Edit because I don't proof before posting, and even if I do I miss most mistakes.

Oh, I'll bet the setting sun is amazing under those conditions!

I just have not had any time at all for a sunset photo shoot...

I couldn't smell any smoke here...

And the moon isn't discolored at all...

Things look better to me now!

If the humidity's rising, that's good news too...
