My grandmother would have been 90 yesterday.
She missed her birthday by a little over a month.

But I have to share a funny story about her because she was a real pistol. Well two actually. Once she dressed up as a tampon for Halloween. This was maybe 10 years ago. She dressed all in white with a red cap. Now I know that's a little gross but still kind of funny.

The other story is that once she gave my cousin a hard time about not wearing a bra. So when she was in the hospital after her stroke, my cousin pointed out the she (my grandmother) was not wearing a bra. My grandmother's response was "Fuck you". My cousin told this story after the funeral when we were all in the church basement eating tuna surprise. Well some sort of hotdish (this was Minnesota after all). In front of the priests and everything. Some of the old timers were a little shocked at the language but my nana was a little salty.

So happy birthday, Nana, wherever you are. I hope you are dancing up a storm.

3. Thanks
He favorite band was Asleep at the Wheel. I think I introduced her to them. At least I gave her a couple of their CDs. She would dance for exercise back before she broke her hip a few years ago. And even did a little bit after that. She came to Texas two years ago, along with my aunt and a couple of my cousins. We took her on the boat ride along the Riverwalk and to the Alamo, etc.

5. Live it all
It sure sounds like that was her motto. Live it all.

I'm sorry your grandmother didn't see her 90th. She sounded like a hoot!
