Help! How do I turn OFF my son's iPod?
 He's got one of the older iPod nano models.
can't figur out how to turn the damn thing off!

I can't find an obvious "off" button, it's so frustrating. :grr:

He's at school right now and doesn't know that Mom has been playing with his iPod.

Gawd...:eyes:

1. Press and hold the >= button at the bottom of the thumbwheel.
It should turn off after about five seconds.

7. It's not that simple
You need an iHammer ($499) or an iBrick ($399).

But both sold out within 20 minutes of release.

iHammer Über ($599) and iBrick Mega ($499) won't be available until Dec. 5, and won't be compatible anyway.

9. Would it have killed Apple to give it an actual off button?
You really shouldn't have to read the instructions (or in your case ask online) to figure out how to turn the thing off.

17. Actually, for future reference, it will turn itself off.
Just leave it alone for several minutes and it shuts off. :)

19. Ah, true.
An important detail. I usually pause mine when I'm done with it, so that's normal behavior for me.
