Tuesday, October 30, 2007 A lab technician from New Jersey is facing charges of having sex with the corpse of a 92-year-old woman at the hospital where he worked.

According to authorities, a security guard spotted 24-year-old Anthony Merino performing sexual acts with the body of the 92-year-old in the morgue at the Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey.

He was arrested shortly afterwards.

Bail has been set at $400,000, and a judge has ordered that Merino undergo a psychological evaluation.

Merino has also been banned from working in a health care facility while he faces the charges. Before his arrest, Merino worked full time at Overlook Hospital, as well as part time at both Holy Name Hospital and New Jersey-based Bio Reference Labs.

My guess is that the necrophiliac is completely sexually inexperienced and suffers from fears of inadequacy. Sad to say, this is not all that bizarre, at least according to the FBI. Most assaults againt the deceased or elderly are committed by younger criminals who are in general terrified of having intimate relations with females their own age. They were never socialized.
