Hey, There's An Owl Calling Outside My Window
Barn Owl saying "HOOhoohoo hoo hoo"...

Better than a Screech Owl- they sound eerie!

2. I Love Barn Owls... I Often Hear Them During The DAY...
but I can never find out exactly where they are hooting from. They keep very well camouflaged and hidden.

-- Allen

PS You're correct about screechowls...they are hideous sounding.

3. It Hasn't Been There For "Six-Nights-In-A-Row" Has It?
If you loathe sappy songs from the 70's, then you'll know what I'm talking about.

5. If its a hoot owl, you may be trapped
in a folksy-sappy 70s pop tune. Proceed with caution.

6. Where do you live?
There is one calling outside my house right now also.

Southeastern Pennsylvania, northwestern Chester County. The one way I know to bring him or her here is to play my 4-row chromatic accordion, preferably klezmer. The song that brings out from the owl is amazing.

I love having them around.

I've been wondering, where do they sleep. It's been so very cold here lately.
