The Patriots and "running up the score" - now do you get it?
The Patriots "ran up the score" all year for one reason: to make sure they were in the habit of playing 60 minutes of football.

Why?

Because sooner or later, they were going to need all 60 minutes to win.

See: Pats v Colts yesterday.

They played 60 minutes, and won.

So...that's why, and any sportswriter or "sports pundit" who doesn't understand that now should be summarily fired.

1. That's why I mute the TV and listen to the game on my local radio station
Merrill Reese and Mike Quick are better than any dumbass hired by the major networks.

2. How are people feeling about McNabb in your neck of the woods today?
That was a fairly sad performance. Is he almost done, do you think?

6. It's tough with McNabb
You look at some of the other big names we've had in Philly (and not just with football): Cunningham, Owens, Iverson, Barkley, Lindros - they all wore out their welcome and started to become pretty nasty the the fans come the final years in Philly.

McNabb is just such a great guy who has never really soured on Philly and the fans that it's tough to want to chasehim out of Philly like we did all those other players.

I'm thinking we need some help with the line and I was disappointed with the defense. At this point we want the Eagles to go for a good draft pick instead of a playoff position.

It's Hockey and Basketball season - go Flyers and Sixers

4. What the hell has happened to football?
This is supposed to be a physical sport in which one team aims to dominate the other team, physically and mentally to win. I don't see the "running up the score" as a problem, I see it as football being played the way it was meant to be played.

I say stop with the wussification of football, and GO PATRIOTS!

10. Congrats on your success, but your theory is flawed
Are you saying that NE does not have a 2 minute or 4 minute offense scheme/plan, or that they dont need one? Because I'll bet you they do, and they practice them all the time.

They used their 4 minute offense to beat the Colts, not their 60 minute one.

There is a difference, and it has nothing to do with running up the score.

11. No problem with "running up the score"...
...This is the NFL. These are pros.

I'm not a Pats fan, obviously, but I bear them no ill will.

Go Steelers, Monday Night Football!!! It's a crucial game for them, as it is for the Ravens. (I see the Steelers by 20-10.)
